Report on constitution day celebration
The Constitution Day events will be a part of the year-long nationwide celebrations to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Ambedkar.
On the occasion of constitution day on November 26, government and Central Board of Secondary Education affiliated schools were asked to celebrate the occasion. The students on this occasion were made aware about the preamble of the constitution as part of the celebration.
To commemorate this event DPSM celebrated the day in the morning assembly Our school head mistress Ms. Nagaveni address students briefly about the significance of celebrating the Constitution Day and highlighted the importance of The Preamble of Indian Constitution which records the aims and aspirations of the people of India and reflects the basic spirit of the Constitution. To give an impetus to event various class room activities were conducting among the students like Colouring activity on the framing fathers of the constitution, Talk on Dr. B.R . Ambedkar , Collage , poster making , Declamation and Power point presentation on Indian Constitution. The learners also enacted a small skit depicting the evolution of the constitution of our Nation.
The students took the pledge which highlighted the principal of Preamble i,e India being A SOVEREIGN , SOCIALIST ,SECULAR , DEMOCRATIC and REPUBLIC nation which instills a sense of patriotism among students and engages their hearts and minds with a sense of being a part of one great nation.
Thus Constitution Day celebrations will help revive its basic philosophy of building an egalitarian society without fear or bias and ensuring that the people elect the government of their choice. The Constituent Assembly which met for 166 days over two years 11 months and 18 days has devised the basic political system of the republic in such a form that its ideals flourish forever. When we celebrate Constitution Day we once again reaffirm our faith in those ideals.
DPS games2016-Annual Sports Day
The Annual Sports day of DPS, Mysore was held on 12th November, 2016. The theme for the day was “Peace Knows No Borders.” The day started with the VIP call and the House-wise March past by the students of grades6-10. The Chief guest accompanied by Mr.Maqsood Ali Khan, Member, Board of Management, KKECT, The HeadMistress Ms.Nagaveni.T, Ms.Manju Balasubramaniam, Principal, DPS, Bangalore North and Mr.Kaleemulla, Admn Manager, DPS, Mysore and other dignitaries were given ceremonious welcome. The Chief guest of the day was Mr.M.S.Ravindra, Karnataka Ranji Cricket player and an A level coach of the Ranji team of Karnataka.
The School Sports persons led by the Sports Captain carried the ceremonial torch around the ground that marked the formal inauguration of the day’s event. Later, the Chief Guest threw the meet open by releasing tri colour balloons. The House captains and the Sports captain were administered the Oath by the Headmistress Ms.Nagaveni.T.
Colourful displays that adhered to the theme by the students marked the day and filled the hearts of parents and others with pride and happiness. Also the Finals of track events were held and prizes were distributed by the Chief guest and other dignitaries.
The chief guest in his address advised the children to be active in sports and to be physically fit and dedicated to any field of sports of their choice.
The Headmistress gave a note of personal thanks to each and everyone to end the sports meet.
